Clearing and Forwarding

Is the process of making any declarations to the customs authorities either on the outgoing border or the incoming one and settling accounts for any charges levied by customs is the process known as “clearing”. Clearing and Forwarding is used for dealing with customs authorities and import/export taxes, mostly.

The following documents shall be produced for EXPORT:

  • Invoice
  • Parking list
  • TIN certificate (exporter)
  • Authorization letter
  • Export certificates from relevant Authorities depending on nature of the goods to be exported. The certificates/permits may include.
    1. Certificates from Food and Drugs Authority.
    2. Certificates from Ministry of Agriculture for crops.
    3. Certificates from ministry of mines for minerals.
    4. Certificates from Ministry of Natural Resources

Clearing and forwarding

Our beloved customers your required to submit for us the following documents as mentioned for Customs clearance of your Goods either at Dar Es Salaam Port, Zanzibar Port, Airport or any other appointed area by Commissioner of Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) to conducts Customs Process. Customs agents/importers lodge the documents in the clearance system i.e. Tanzania Customs Integrated System.We Clearing and Forwarding Agent are urged to lodge your submitted documents into our office for customs clearance at least 7 days before arrival of the goods.

Import and Transit documents include:

  • Final Invoice
  • Agent’s Authorization Letter
  • Import permits from TFDA, TBS etc
  • Exemption documents (If applicable)
  • Packing List
  • Transport documents i.e Bill of Lading/Airway Bill/Road Consignment note

Documentation process of your Goods is done Online through Tanzania Electronic Single Window (TANESW) for importations,Exportation and Transit goods to the Mainland for the goods arrived through Zanzibar and can be completed before arrival of the goods.

Note:
  • For exportation made through Zanzibar the exporter hands over the documents either manually or electronically to the CFA who uploads them in the Automated Systems for Customs Data and lodges the same to TRA; whereby a reference number is automatically generated.
  • The exporter is required to inform the customs before loading the goods in the container or truck as the customs officer is required to supervise the loading process
  • Booking of the space at the shipping line is not required for exports made through overland.
